Conversational English ESL Classes The Jointure Literacy Volunteers FREE Starts- Thursday, April 10, 2008.
This and other area literacy programs are made possible in whole or in part by a Literacy Grant from the New Jersey State Library, an affiliate of Thomas Edison State College, with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act.
Somerville Public Library, in
conjunction with the Borough of Somerville’s Recreation Department and Van
Derveer Elementary School, offer English as a Second Language courses to adult
Somerville area residents. LVSC provides free, one-to-one and small group tutoring to functionally illiterate adults through a network of volunteers trained in Basic Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). LVSC recruits and trains volunteer tutors who are matched with adult students.LVSC's student-centered program helps adults:
