"In Memoriam"

Begun in 1981, the Friends of
Somerville Public Library are a source of great assistance to the Library
in many ways. The various book sales, and other fundraisers that the
Friends have developed, generate revenue, which is then used to purchase
materials for the Library and to sponsor children's, young adult, and
adult programs. Examples of these programs include the Summer Reading
Programs, and the Third Thursday Poetry Series that has been held since
2003.
The Friends have generously donated book
drops, the illuminated sign that stands in front of the Library at 35 West End
Avenue, as well as computers and other technological equipment.
To join the Friends, please
