Roselle Student Returns to Talk About Her New Books...
It was barely a year ago that Mabel Elizabeth Singletary pub-lished her first book for children. “Just Jump!” was the story of five young girls who learn to work together in a double dutch
jump roping competition. Now there are three in the “Double Dutch Club” series, and one in a series for boys, the “Also Rans.”
Singletary, who grew up in Roselle and now lives in Somerset , will make a return visit to the Roselle Public Library on Saturday, September 27 at noon . She will be there to read from her newest books, talk about her upcoming titles, and autograph copies. The visit is sponsored by the Friends of the Roselle Library, and is free to all. Full Story>

A variety of athletically interested readers took part in the
Roselle Public Library's recent drawing for an official Beijing 2008 Olympics lapel pin. The five winners were drawn at noon on Thursday August 7, just as it became 8/8/08 in Beijing
China, the host for the XXIX Olympiad.

Roselle Chamber of Commerce to Honor Ginsberg Family

The Roselle Chamber of Commerce will hold its sixth annual dinner and report to the membership on Wednesday, September 24. The event will be held at the Roselle Golf Club, and will start at 6:30 pm.

Roselle Library Receives Gates Foundation Opportunity Online Grant...
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced today that the Roselle Public Library will be one of the public libraries in 11 states sharing $8.1 million in grants to improve and sustain free, quality access to computers.
For the Roselle Library, the grant will mean the replacement of six public access computers and the addition of two additional computers. Roselle 's grant is for $13,000 over two years, with
a local match of $7800 over the same period. While the grant funds must be used for hardware, matching funds can cover such things as staff training and tech support. Full Story>
