Getting your Library CardLibrary membership is required to borrow materials and to use the library's computers. You must show your library card or some other form of I.D. in order to borrow books and use library computers. Library membership is free to all Red Bank Residents and property owners as well as to employees and owners of businesses and students of schools located in the borough of Red Bank. Your Red Bank Public Library card is valid at other LMXAC member libraries throughout Monmouth and Middlesex counties. For a list of member libraries with links to their home pages, click here. Keep your library card in a safe place. If your card is lost or stolen, report it immediately--you are responsible for any items borrowed on this card until it is deactivated in the system and a new card is issued. Red Bank Residents:All persons who live in the Borough of Red Bank are entitled to a free three year library membership. Persons under the age of 18 must have their library card applications signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Non-ResidentsNon-Residents may join the library for an annual $20 fee. To join the Red Bank Public Library, you will need to show proof of identity and address. Non-Residents are persons who do not live in the Borough of Red Bank. Please note, some parts of Middletown Township have a Red Bank Postal address. For membership purposes these are designated as non-residents because their property taxes are paid to Middletown.
Lost or Stolen Library CardsPatrons
are responsible for all materials borrowed on the card up until the date that
the card is reported lost or stolen. Patrons
must show ID to get a replacement card. Juvenile
and those young adult patrons who do not have official ID, must have a “Lost
Library Card” form signed by a parent or legal guardian. The account is blocked until to prevent others from using the
card until the library card is found or ID or signed “Lost Library Card”
form is produced. The
