One of the most delightful aspects of Plainsboro Public Library is the magnificent volunteer support we get from the community. Volunteers contribute to the remarkably cost effective, innovative service at Plainsboro Public Library. From “reading the shelves”, to helping with community wide festivals, to manning the technical needs of the vast Interlibrary Loan System, to sorting donations and selling books at the monthly sale, volunteers play MAJOR roles. During 2012, nearly 100 adults and teens donated over 3,700 hours to the Plainsboro Library!
We're currently looing for volunteers for the Plainsboro Festival of the Arts, Saturday September 20th. If you're interested please come in and fill out a form. Or you can print one out below and bring it in.
Seeking Adult Library Volunteers!
Next Orientation Session
Monday, June 23rd from 11am-1pm
Plainsboro Library History Room
To sign up or for more information please email Sharon at email@example.com
Orientations for adults who wish to volunteer on a regular basis are scheduled 3 - 4 times per year as needed--generally in the early spring, early summer and mid to late fall. Check back here often for updates. "Applications" for adult and teen program volunteers will be posted on the Blog and in the Library a few weeks prior to the event. Also watch for special postings for program volunteers throughout the year. If you would like further information or have questions, please email Sharon at firstname.lastname@example.org
Teen shelvers are recruited twice a year -- for the summer and for the school year. Plainsboro residents will be given first consideration. Anyone with questions on teen volunteering may email Joyce at email@example.com
The library has one time programs throughout the year, such as:
- Festival of the Arts
- Chinese New Year
- Founder’s Day Parade
- Discovery Summer
The library has programs throughout the year. We always need teen and adult volunteers to help out. Please check the library’s website and the circulation desk for opportunities. You may also email firstname.lastname@example.org and request that your name be added to the listserv to be notified of upcoming volunteer opportunities.
We are not currently recruiting more “geeks” for the technology help desk. However, if you are a “tech-savvy” Plainsboro High School student interested in helping out please email Joyce, the teen volunteer coordinator at email@example.com and we will be in touch if and when we need more volunteer “geeks”.
Students, want a fun way to earn volunteer hours? Review books! For more details, complete rules, and submissions please email Meaghan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
