The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is proud to present:

Imagine! Create! Write!
Creative Writing Nights at Clara Barton Library for Teens and Tweens

Join us for fun filled evenings of writing, discussion, and story sharing. Whether you want to develop your writing skills, or just figure out a way to express your imagination, this program is for you. Learning from poetry and prose, you will find your own creative style. Creating your own fairytale endings and participating in music inspired writing are just a sample of the exciting activities planned.

There will be no pressure, no grades given, just fun, support and guidance in a relaxed atmosphere. All levels of writers are welcome.
Space is Limited! There will be three sessions. Each session is different so sign up for any or all three sessions.
Open to: Ages 11-16 with an Edison Library card

Edison Public Library Teen Book Club Presents:
Dr. Franklin’s Island by Ann Halam



One Book New Jersey Young Adult selection, 2008

This is a gripping thriller of survival, adventure, physical and psychological transformation. Dr. Franklin’s Island grabs your attention from the first chapter. Three British teens survive a plane crash, but can they survive a mad scientist and his fearful employees?

Read the book on your own. Then share thoughts or hear what other teens have to say about the book. This is a great opportunity to make new friends who also love to read, have a snack and hear firsthand about the new and exciting books that come into the library. Remember: Readers turn into leaders.

To reserve a copy of the book, call or stop by any of the branch libraries including bookmobile. This will also count toward the library Summer Reading program.

SUMMER READING 2008

Read for the Fun of It – Chance to Win Prizes

RULES
  1. Open to Edison Young Adults, 12 to 17 years of age, with an Edison Library card.

  2. A participant 12 years of age can choose to be part of the Children's program or the Teen Program, but not both.

  3. 3. Participants must read 5 books, fiction or nonfiction, from the YA collection. Books from required summer reading lists may also be used.

  4. Signup begins Monday, June 2. You can register any time during summer reading. Reading records must be complete by Friday, August 22.

  5. Sign up and receive a reading record at any Edison Library branch, including Bookmobile. The title and author must be recorded on the reading record.

  6. Eligible books must be books checked out from any Edison library branch but must be returned to the branch where your reading record is filed.

  7. No reports are required.

  8. Not eligible for the reading club: Books placed in the Book drop, Magazines and Audiobooks.

  9. Every complete reading record will be entered into a drawing for prizes, including our grand prize, a DIGITAL CAMERA, donated by the Friends of the Edison Library.
